1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PBR Forge (the “Service”), available at www.pbrforge.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

PBR Forge is operated by Jad Haidar, based in Dubai, UAE.

2. Description of the Service

PBR Forge is a browser-based tool that generates PBR (Physically Based Rendering) texture maps from source images. The Service uses WebGL 2.0 to process images entirely on your device—no images are uploaded to or stored on our servers.

The Service is currently provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid features, subscription tiers, or other monetization in the future. If we do, we will provide advance notice and update these Terms accordingly.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using PBR Forge, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

4. User Accounts

The main PBR Forge application does not require a user account. However, our Feedback Board (accessible at pbrforge.com/feedback) requires authentication via Google sign-in or email with a one-time password link. By creating an account on the Feedback Board, you agree to provide accurate information and are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.

5. Intellectual Property

Our Intellectual Property

PBR Forge, including its source code, algorithms, shaders, user interface, branding, and all related intellectual property, is owned by PBR Forge and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of the Service or its underlying technology.

Your Output

You retain full ownership of all texture maps and images generated using PBR Forge. We claim no rights over your output. You are free to use generated textures for any purpose, including commercial projects, without attribution.

We reserve the right to modify these output ownership terms in the future, particularly in connection with the introduction of different service tiers. Any changes will be communicated in advance and will not retroactively affect outputs you have already generated.

6. User Content

When using the Feedback Board, you may submit ideas, comments, and votes (“User Content”). By submitting User Content, you grant PBR Forge a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and incorporate your feedback into the Service. You retain ownership of your User Content but acknowledge that suggestions and feature requests may be implemented without obligation or compensation.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • • Attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • • Use automated means (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the Service in a manner that degrades performance for other users
  • • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when using the Feedback Board
  • • Submit malicious, abusive, or spam content through the Feedback Board

8. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with the following third-party providers:

  • • Vercel—Hosting and infrastructure
  • • PostHog—Product analytics (EU-hosted, consent-required)
  • • Clerk—Authentication for the Feedback Board
  • • Convex—Backend database for the Feedback Board

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. PBR Forge is not responsible for the practices of third-party service providers.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect and handle data. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. PBR Forge does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

The quality and accuracy of generated texture maps depend on your source images and device capabilities. PBR Forge makes no guarantees regarding the suitability of generated outputs for any particular use case.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PBR Forge and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, regardless of the theory of liability.

Since the Service processes all images locally on your device, PBR Forge bears no responsibility for any loss of your source images or generated outputs. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PBR Forge and its operator from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, particularly as the Service evolves. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates, as applicable in the Emirate of Dubai. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai, UAE.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
